About our Founder
Mr. Talkington graduated with a Business Administration degree from Texas State University. His Senior year he attended a USA vs... UK comparative Business Model Study at the University of Edinburgh Scotland. This program was based out of Brown University in partnership with Texas State University. Mr. Talkington has been active in the finance industry since the late 1980's. To date he is responsible for hundreds of million dollars in closed financial transactions.. He began his finance career shortly after graduation in the equipment leasing industry while living in Austin Texas. Within three months of joining a start up leasing brokerage he became the leading sales producer for the company at 23 years of age. After excelling in Austin for two years Mr. Talkington was offered a business development position with a larger equipment leasing company in Salt Lake City. Within his first year in Salt Lake City he became the number one gross profit producer of that company at age 26. After working in this larger corporate environment for a few years, Mr. Talkington reached a point that did not match his personal and career objectives. His desire to cut through the red tape, be self sufficient, and create his own advancement/income gave him the burning desire to step out! The first day after leaving the that-a-boy corporate environment he founded Omni Funding ™ based in Salt Lake City. Since 1994 Omni has provided equipment lease financing to various domestic and international markets, with a strong emphasis in the medical equipment industries.
Mr. Talkington anticipated and started to experience major changes in the equipment leasing market as a new decade approached. The industry was drastically changing with large captive companies dominating the industry. Also the consolidations, merger/acquisitions, and buyouts were squeezing the smaller equipment lessors and broker profit margins. Mr. Talkington decided not to participate in the whales eating up the minnows! Making some product changes and refocusing the business model he created a fresh blueprint to begin a new millennium. Those changes created a flexible to change foundation and expanded profit centers. The new model is a cross-market philosophy. By implementing and consolidating years of resources and networks Mr. Talkington took the company from a single equipment-leasing source to a boutique capital need source. The company provides various financial products and services in addition to its equipment leasing roots.
In addition to managing Omni Funding and CCTLS, Mr. Talkington is an avid real estate investor. As a result of his real estate investments he founded a successful properties company in 1998. Along with his real estate passion he is a dynamic public speaker and presenter for various: conferences, business & economic development seminars, real estate conventions, and fundraising events. A few of his hobbies are: Golf, Tennis, Scuba Diving, Skiing, Fly Fishing, History, Cooking, Travel, and the Arts.
Mr. Talkington embraces our free enterprise system and making ones own path within that system. He founded CCTLS for the simple reason to create a foundation for others that want to take control of their destiny and be flexible during the inevitable changes in our economy.
